志賀高原ビール Not So Mild Ale Cask Finished / French Oak Puncheon
Not So Mild AleをHouse IPA Cask Finished / French Oak Puncheon を空けたあとの樽で熟成したそう。
ベースのビールが持つ、麦の風味や、スパイシーな風味があるところに、様々な風味が加わっている。
具体的には、木材のような風味や、バーボンや、カカオのような風味。
柑橘っぽい風味も、少々。
アルコール度数が低めで、ボディも軽く飲みやすい。
ただ、風味豊かなわりに、ボディが軽いのでバランスが悪い印象。
涼しくなってきた今頃に、ちょうど良いビール。
美味しいけど、好みは分かれるだろうなぁ。

Not So Mild Ale was aged in the cask previously used for House IPA Cask Finished / French Oak Puncheon.
The base beer’s maltiness and spicy notes are complemented by various additional flavors.
Specifically, woody notes, hints of bourbon, and cocoa-like flavors.
There’s also a hint of citrusy notes.
It has a lower alcohol content and a light body, making it easy to drink.
However, despite its rich flavors, the light body creates an unbalanced impression.
It’s a perfect beer for this time of year as it starts to cool down.
It’s tasty, but I imagine it would be a matter of personal preference.
